The Istanbul New Airport started operations on 29 October 2018. At first, flights were being done to only a few cities (Ankara, Antalya, Izmir etc.). However, Ataturk Airport is closed to all passenger flights on 7 April 2019. Most of the passenger flights from/to Istanbul are being carried out from the Istanbul New Airport currently.
What about parking at Istanbul New Airport? Since there is no train or subway system reaching Istanbul New Airport and the only public transportation method is buses, infrastructure for cars in and to Istanbul New Airport was given importance. Since all roads are planned in such a way that traffic congestion does not occur in maximum capacity, there is no traffic to the Istanbul Airport by car or after the Istanbul Airport entrance if you are lucky to rescue from city traffic. The same applies to parking areas. The parking capacity of the Istanbul New Airport is planned to be 40000, so there will be no shortage of parking space in near future. As of 7 April 2019, the price of one-hour multi-storey car park in Istanbul New Airport is 21 Turkish Liras and the price of one day parking is 63 TL. In advance booking appears to be not possible at Istanbul Airport Parking Lot. The total price without discount will be 36.27 € / 38.92 $ / 1263 TL. If you subscribe to parking lot for 30-days period, the total price will be 12.75 € / 13.68 $ / 444 TL. But please do not forget to make subscription when you arrive there. If you do not subscribe on arrival, you will be faced with the 36.27 € / 38.92 $ / 1263 TL bill when you leave there. In Istanbul Airport's website, the subscription process is explained as below.
In order to benefit from the short-term subscription (4-day, 7-day, 15-day, 30-day) fees, you must go to the manual payment booths at Red or Green Parking Lots on floor P3 and start your subscription within 1 hour after entering the parking lot. For 4, 7, 15 days subscription processes may be performed at the automatic payment machines at the parking lot within 1 hour after entering the parking lot.
