The Istanbul New Airport started operations on 29 October 2018. At first, flights were being done to only a few cities (Ankara, Antalya, Izmir etc.). However, Ataturk Airport is closed to all passenger flights on 7 April 2019. Most of the passenger flights from/to Istanbul are being carried out from the Istanbul New Airport currently.
Since the Ataturk airport is close to the city center, the transportation to Ataturk airport is very easy. So how is the transportation to the Istanbul New Airport? Istanbul New Airport is only accessible by road currently. There is no subway to Istanbul New Airport. So, how can you get to Istanbul Airport by public transport? Transportation to Istanbul New Airport by public transportation is provided by IETT buses and HAVAIST buses. Both companies are managed by the IMM. Where can you buy tickets for Havaist buses? To use Havaist buses, there are IstanbulKart machines at the departure point of Havaist buses at Istanbul Airport. In order to use public transport in Istanbul, you can buy a IstanbulKart and put money into it, and you can use it for all public transportation buses within city.
Istanbul Airport Havaist Ticket Machines
The management of all Istanbul buses belongs to IETT, an Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality company, as mentioned above. IETT has a very useful app available on both Apple Store and Android Play Store: 'MOBIETT'. If you are going to use public transport in Istanbul, this application will be life-saver. By installing this application, you can access all line informations, bus times and most importantly live bus locations. We give the lines and buses information in this article; but you should use MOBIETT if you want to see live bus locations. MOBIETT is available in English and several other languages. What about transportation alternatives? You do not have many alternatives to reach the city from Istanbul Airport. If you want to reach the city from Istanbul Airport using public transportation, the only way is by bus. Metro or train service is not available from Istanbul Airport yet. But what about a taxi? Important Note
There are no bus services as Istanbul Airport is closed to international flights due to coronavirus measures in May, when this update is written. As soon as the flights start and the buses start operating, an update will be made on our page.Because of the pandemic, Istanbul Airport has been providing limited service, and buses to Istanbul Airport have been canceled for the last 2 months. After the start of the flights in June, Istanbul Airport bus services were also started gradually. In the current situation, according to the information received from the website of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, only the following lines(H1, H2, H3, H6) serve lines listed below are on service. When you arrive to Istanbul airport, follow Bus Station signs. The Istanbul Airport Bus Station is located at -2nd floor. The ticket machine(namely IstanbulKart) is also there, near the buses. I have 2 luggages, can i carry them on the bus or not?

You can carry you luggages with HAVAIST buses. When you arrive to bus, you give your luggages to the driver. He will put your luggages to the luggage compartment under the bus and gives you a baggage voucher. When you get off the bus you can pick up your luggage by showing this voucher.

There is no metro from Istanbul Airport to city center right now. You can choose either bus or taxi, it depends on your budget and preference. If you choose taxi to go city center from Istanbul Airport, you will face with a price up to 40€ depending on where you want to go(you can check the taxi price by https://isturkeysafe.com/ISL-istanbul-airport-by-taxi). How long time to go from Sultanahmet to new airport please?

The duration of the IST-20 bus from Sultanahmet to Istanbul Airport is at least 1hour at no traffic. But it takes up to 2 hours(or even more) at rush hours. Also if there is an accident, special event(like football match) or even rain, going from Sultanahmet to Istanbul Airport by IST-20 bus can take 2 hours or even more. Istanbul has a terrible traffic, and the traffic is mostly unpredictable. So it would generally be safe to plan for the worst. Also, the Istanbul Airport is very big. Sometimes it takes up to 15-20minutes to reach gate by walking. We suggest you to make your plans concerning all these mentioned above.

There is no train or metro to Istanbul Airport right now, so train is not an option to Istanbul Airport.

As you mentioned, IST-8 bus goes on both directions; Istanbul Airport to Pendik YHT Station and Pendik YHT station to Istanbul Airport. Except Taksim, IST-19 Taksim Bus stops only at Nurtepe Viyaduk in Istanbul. So in total there are 3 stops on IST-19 route; Taksim, Nurtepe Viyaduk and Istanbul Airport. You should take IST-1 to reach Istanbul Airport from Fatih. Both IST-1 Aksaray and Ulubatlı bus stops are near Fatih. But Fatih is a big area, so it would be better for you to spot the nearest bus stop to you. To check which stop is nearer to you, you can use our Bus Finder application below. How much time needs from Istanbul airport to sabiha airport in the evening 7 pm?

The route from Istanbul Airport to Sabiha Gokcen Airport is generally a traffic free route. So If there is no problem, the duration from Istanbul Airport to to Sabiha Gokcen Airport may not exceed 90minutes(the route is around 85km) with bus. With taxi, it would not be more than 70-80minutes. But when you talk about Istanbul traffic, any generalization may be wrong. If there is an accident, a concert, a football match or even heavy rain on the route, it may take up to 3 hours. These are exceptions, but worth to take into account. So planning for the worse would be safer for you.

Generally, Havaist shuttlebus operates overnight. Most of the Havaist Buses work overnight, on the other hand, some lines work only till midnight. You can find current timetables at link below:

There is no bus passing directly in front of the DoubleTree by Hilton Topkapi hotel, but IST-1 Ulubatlı bus stop seems the nearest bus stop where you can go directly from airport. Just take IST-1 Yenikapı bus, exit the bus at Ulubatlı and take a taxi(charge will not more than 20-30TL from there to hotel)

In order to buy tickets to reach Istanbul Airport from Sultanahmet by bus, you have two ways. You should either buy IstanbulKart or use HavaIST mobil app.
Lets start with HavaIST mobile application for Istanbul Airport. By the link below or by apps found in AppStore and Android, you can buy one way ticket for Havaist to/from Istanbul Airport by paying with credit card. The system will give you a QR code, when you make the machine in the bus read this code, you can take Havaist bus to Istanbul Airport. The most important thing is; people are complaining about the app which needs to be online in the bus. So if you will not use a data package in Turkey, this may be a problem. Or you will buy IstanbulKart. You can buy it from kiosks at every metro/tram station in Istanbul. Also there are some shops which are allowed to sell tickets for IstanbulKart. You can find the whole list below. When you seach for Sultanahmet, there is a Turkcell Shop which sells tickets near Sultanahmet.
